Welcome to Inventure Academy's
Model United Nations 2019!
It is with great honour and pleasure that I invite you to join us for the 8th session of Inventure Model United Nations. With a focus on critical thinking, diplomacy and collaboration, resonating with Inventure Academy’s core values, this year at INMUN 2019, we hope to encourage delegates to go beyond their comfort zones and push themselves to tackle global issues to understand the world around them. We aim to inspire each and every delegate to take action beyond the committee room, to truly be a changemaker and make a difference.
This year, our team has been tirelessly working to ensure an unparalleled and enriching learning experience. Delving into the most pertinent issues in today’s world, we have simulated a diverse array of committees, covering a wide range of topics - from discussing threatening worldwide concerns of funding and recruitment of insurgency groups through the dark web in the Disarmament and International Security (DISEC) and the ethical issues of biotechnology and artificial intelligence in today’s world in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to travelling back in time to manage tensions in Eastern Europe in the very exciting Committee X. Not only do we provide a chance to dive into international issues, but we also emphasize the importance of addressing crucial local issues such as how to tackle the mammoth problems of water and air pollution in the futuristic committee Bangalore 2030: City Council.
Every MUN provides an opportunity to grow as an individual, and personally, I never fail to learn something new. At INMUN 2019, we strive to broaden the horizons of each and every delegate, helping you discover new areas of interests, while developing your own skills and confidence. As Peter F. Drucker said, "The best way to predict the future is to create it." I hope that you will utilize this time to make new friends, seize this precious opportunity to learn, and leave with a fresh perspective, along with the determination and critical thinking to take small steps towards truly making a difference.
Whether you are an MUN veteran or a first timer, I hope that you will join us for this unique learning experience. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us with any questions or concerns. I look forward to seeing you all at INMUN 2019!
I am delighted to welcome you all to INMUN 2019. My name is Sannah Mudbidri and I will be serving as one of the Under-Secretary Generals this year. This year we will be discussing prevalent issues, including gender equality, the Kashmir crisis and environmental issues. I hope that you enjoy researching these topics and I firmly believe that we will see many great discussions in committee.
This year, the Executive Board has tried our absolute best to make this conference as thought-provoking and enjoyable for you as we possibly can. We have strived to create unique and interesting committees such as Committee X, the Jakarta Summit, and the Futuristic BBMP Crisis Committee. This year we have eight different committees, all with pressing issues for discussion, with the hope that these will inspire you to be active and engaged citizens of the world.
Model United Nations provides a unique opportunity to learn and co-operate with your fellow delegates. It gives you a chance to speak up for what you believe in, come up with solutions to world issues, and step out of your comfort zone. The delegates should research their agenda as well as their nation’s foreign policy well in order to perform as well as possible in committee, and have a fulfilling experience.
My advice to delegates is to make your voice heard. Raise your placard at every opportunity and make the most of the experience. Read the newspaper and stay up to date on world events. Read articles from a variety of publications because you never know what may inspire you to tackle a situation from a new perspective.
Seize this opportunity to make new friends, to learn, to speak, to be heard, and to have fun! I look forward to seeing you all at the conference.
Wishing you all the very best,
It is both a pleasure and an honour for me to welcome you to INMUN 2019. My name is Ananya Chaudhary, and I will be serving as one of the Under-Secretary-Generals for INMUN this year. The world has seen many changes, both positive and negative, and it is my firm belief that we will see many great discussions in this conference.
Nelson Mandela once said: “We can change the world and make it a better place. It is in your hands to make a difference”. Today, we have the opportunity to change the world, the chance to transform it into one bringing security and prosperity to each individual and the entire Executive Board has worked incredibly hard to ensure a captivating experience for all of you. This year, we have created 8 different committees addressing a wide range of incredibly pertinent and relevant issues in today’s world; we hope that each and every one of you will find a committee catering to your interests. In addition to the General Assemblies and the International Press Corps, we have unique committees such as the BBMP, the Jakarta Summit, and Committee X.
The ability of MUN to teach all participants to step out of their comfort zone and stand up for what they believe in is remarkable. On the other hand, MUN also teaches compassion, humanity, and sympathy to the extent of quite literally representing a different perspective. That being said, I hope that INMUN, as so many conferences have done for me, will provide a platform for all delegates to continue to learn and apply these skills in all aspects of life. Whether you are debating Gender Inequality or travelling back to the 1950s and the Cold War, you will be immersed in an challenging and mentally enthralling experience
I look forward to seeing you at INMUN 2019!
I wish you all the very best,
